Life in Ministry
Through a suprising chain of events, we find ourselves beginning a new ministry in the North part of Oaxaca. Since the month of March 2013 we have been meeting in the apartment above Jorge's parent's Tortilla shop. There are roughly 25 of us beginning this new church plant and we are excited to see where God is leading us!
Our Purpose is:
2005-2012 ~ My husband and I have the privilege to work with the local Church of Christ here in Oaxaca, Mexico where he is the full-time preacher/evangelist and I am secretary, Children's Ministry, Women's Ministry, event planner, etc...
We have been in ministry for ten years now, and have learned so much! We have experienced many areas such as church-planting, evangelism, discipleship, children's ministry, and lots of counseling.
We are trying to lead the brethren towards Christian living and away from traditional religion. We believe Christ came to give us hope of eternal life and to teach us a God-centered lifestyle, not just a check list of Christian duties.
The congregation here is made up of complete families, widows, single mom's, youth, children, and a couple of old coots ;)
Although pastoral work can be very stressful at times, we try to keep our joy fresh (sense of humor) and are constantly reminded that the church is not ours, but the Lord's!
Our Purpose is:
- preach Christ as our Saviour and Redeemer
- live a Christ-centered life
- reach out to others around us whom God is touching
